can't think of where else to make a list of specific lovely songs I've been coming across so I guess here...
recommendations welcome~

I listen to everything, in whatever language.

Lately, I've been trying to find chill trance-y songs for relaxing and studying. French or English artists because 80% of my iPod is in Asian languages. Instrumentals (esp piano). And Japanese songs because my favourites are like. 5 years old.

MY MERLIN FEELS. LET ME SHOW YOU THEM.

I've caught up to Season 4 - on Episode 8 now - and I think what infuriates me about this show is the untapped potential. You have some very talented actors with amazing chemistry (*COUGH BRADLEY/COLIN COUGH*) which is completely and horribly destroyed by horrible writing, plot, pacing and characterisation. SERIOUSLY.

This is one of the few shows which makes me feel like I'd like to bundle all the actors/set design people in my arms and run out the door with them to my ALTERNATE AND BETTER WORLD where writing is good. Which means...the solutions to the problems can be seen from a mile away and should be recognised by scriptwriters. And I guess it's the characters who make me continue watching, while alternately wishing to repeatedly headdesk. Maybe I should start participating in the Merlin drinking game.

(just a note - there are spoilers in here but I'm trying to focus more on the general problems in the show)

Also, it is long as hell. I ramble.

spoilers for all seasons!Collapse )

Basically, I love the show because of the actors and the glimpses of awesome, but it makes me headdesk so badly and want to cry because it could have been great and an interesting alternative take on the Arthurian legends, but it must just settle for being just another entertainment show ):

KPOP MUSIC FEST 2011
I was lucky enough to get last minute tickets :D I was in the B11 Section of Gold.

Disclaimer: All photos are mine - they're not the best quality so no watermarks, but please credit if using. My camera battery was dangerously low and I wanted to save battery for TVXQ who I guessed would show up last, so I took very few photos after halfway and focused on enjoying the experience with my own eyes. For other groups, my poor camera didn't manage to take any clear photos of, so I didn't upload them. I don't pretend I know every group/song so my recounts for some will be brief. Due to lack of photos for each group, the order of performances might be a bit wrong.

Basically, it was a really great experience and, even though it wasn't very up-close-and-personal, I'm so glad I got to see them live, breathing the same air etc. The general atmosphere was very interesting to be a part of, and it was amazing seeing how so many fans are so dedicated and creative :D

 THE END OF MY CHILDHOOOOODDD ;___;

Well I technically watched it yesterday but I was feeling sick and basically went to sleep holding my book and then did work the rest of the day so YEAH. Slightly late review of it but still earlier than the Americans for once 8D ohohoho. Were we the first to physically watch it (given Australia's ahead in the time zone scheme of things) or did NZ also get it? O: Just wondering~  Glad we got a good seat though :3

For the record, I'm a book purist who never went into any Harry Potter movie expecting it to be awesome but I've slowly come to accept the movies for what they are. It always means I have more 'bad' than good because I see missed opportunities and gaps in the film compared to the book but I really did enjoy the movie as a whole, given how so much of it had to be adapted

spoilers! obviouslyCollapse )

I jumped the gun a little but I'd watch it again XD

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
And I compiled an actual list. The good, the bad, the funny/other. Because I need to get it all out. My English teacher would be proud of my film analysis XDDD
